Local Area Info

Nestled in the Sussex Downs approximately half-way between London and Brighton, Crawley is ideally situated for the commuter, with rail and bus links to both cities and the nearby Gatwick Airport.

The town is divided into 13 'boroughs' and each borough has it's own selection of local shops, sports facilities and transport links in addition to sharing the centrally located shopping centre and Leisure Centre.

The town is currently enjoying a large element of development and rejuvenation, and boasts one of the best shopping centres in the region and a new leisure park with restaurants, health club, bowling and a 14-screen cinema. In addition, the historic high street is now home to many new bars and cafés and acts as the centre of a bustling night-life.

Surrounded by green belt, Crawley benefits from a number of easliy accessible parks, lakes and woodlands, including Tilgate Park, home of Tilgate Lake where Campbell tested his boat 'Bluebird' prior to achieving the water speed record, and its location facilitates both those wanting to experience the bright lights of the City and those wanting to relax with a day-trip to the South coast.
